Examples of actions in the agri-food sector

  • Detection and identification of sources of microbial contamination in production workshops or along an agri-food chain: alteration strains or pathogens,
  • Proposals for solutions after audit in the event of a manufacturing accident of microbiological origin,
  • Challenge-test – Aging test – Growth test – Storage test (alteration strains or pathogens): helps to determine microbiological shelf life,
  • Microbial ecology: global description of bacterial communities by molecular biology tools (such as NGS Next-Generation Sequencing) with data processing by bioinformatics- qPCR with primer design,
  • Quantitative monitoring of a given species throughout a process, for example fermentation by molecular biology – qPCR,
  • Acquisition of the cardinal values of various microorganisms under different environmental factors: pH, Aw, temperature,
  • Predictive Microbiology, national collaboration with the Sym’ Previus network,
  • Study of the efficiency of decontamination processes (ionization, high pressures, plasma, air disinfection…),
  • Study of microorganisms of industrial interest (bacteria, yeasts, moulds): evaluation of the biopreservation potentialities; characterization of technological flora,
  • Evaluation of active substances (essential oils, disinfectants, antibiotics, phages…) against target microorganisms.

  • Validation of the radiosterilization of health products (prostheses…),
  • Study of the antimicrobial activity of functionalized materials (textiles, surface coating),
  • Detection-identification of biological alterations of materials (stones, paints, textiles, glass),
  • Ageing test, resistance of materials to fungal attack.
